Massive fire rips through Gatwick Airport holiday parking site & industrial estate as man arrested over arson attack

A MASSIVE fire has ripped through a popular Gatwick Airport holiday parking site and industrial estate with cops arresting a man on suspicion of arson. Police and firefighters scrambled to the scene of the blaze at Caldyne Business Park, West Sussex, just after 9pm on Saturday. UK Power Network was forced to shut off power to more than 2,000 homes while crews tackled the incident at the industrial estate. A number of cars are believed to have been damaged following the blaze. The fire caused damage to high voltage equipment in the area. A man has since been arrested on suspicion of arson and taken into custody. Alongside eight fire engines, West Sussex Fire and Rescue sent two water carriers to the scene. Nearby residents were advised over the weekend to keep windows and doors closed and members of the public were also asked to avoid the area.
