Wolverine's descendants have taken Logan's package of claws, regeneration, and ferocity in several fascinating directions. Laura Kinney is the original Wolverine's most prominent successor, genetically derived from Logan and eventually worthy of his superhero mantle. Logan's biological son Akihiro takes a much darker approach, capable of manipulating other people's emotions using pheromones and more recently being able to channel the hellfire of the demon Bagra-Ghul as Hellverine. Laura's younger clone Gabrielle Kinney shares her claws and a healing factor, but approaches danger with optimism and humor. Laura's fellow experiments offer a different perspective on the Wolverine legacy, particularly through the Sisters, a group of ten Laura Kinney clones created by Alchemax Genetics and introduced in All-New Wolverine. Alchemax wanted a team of enhanced bodyguards and assassins, but the experiment produced a disturbing variation on Laura's origin, where the clones' nanites prevented them from feeling pain, and most of them lacked the healing factor and claws that made Laura such a successful killing machine. Six of the ten died during field missions or demonstrations, and others died under mysterious circumstances, leaving four identified sisters: Zelda, Bellona, X23_3PAR, and Gabby. Parallel to Laura Kinney and her fellow genetically-engineered mutates, Marvel introduced a new set of Wolverine clones directly inspired by Logan, but with additional abilities of their own. The Scavenged Ditch Their Weapon X Gear And Start Wearing Their Own Outfits The Uncanny X-Men #38; Written By Gail Simone; Art By Luciano Vecchio, Juan Frigeri, And Matt Wilson Following a direct encounter with the X-Men, Sarah Gaunt retreats and finds a house that can serve as a base of operations for her and her team, the Scavengers. In The Uncanny X-Men #38, the Scavengers have left behind their medical Weapon X-Finity helmets and gear, and they show up wearing civilian clothes, each character with their own style. Fawn wears an orange dress, Pilot wears a blue jacket with a black T-shirt and yellow sunglasses, Polyphemus sports a brown leather jacket and jeans, and Curare rocks a light cream puffer jacket, a black tube top, and maroon high-waisted pants. Starting in The Uncanny X-Men #38, each of the Scavengers develops their own personality that makes them more than mere Wolverine clones. Previously, each of them showcased a unique additional ability to their claws. Fawn possesses super agility, Pilot can sprout jet-like wings and drop small bombs, Polyphemus shares Cyclops' optic blasts, and Curare can emit poisonous gas from her hands. Now, the Scavengers can build their own civilian identities and build their team dynamics mirroring those of the X-Men. The Scavengers Are One Step Closer To Getting Their Own Superhero Costumes Sarah Gaunt's X-Men Team Will Complement Their Civilian Outfits With Professionally Designed Costumes The Scavengers' civilian designs from The Uncanny X-Men #38 aren't the last stage of their visual evolution. Marvel has already unveiled the main cover and variant cover for The Uncanny X-Men #42, where all four Scavengers are wearing the final version of their costumes. Possibly designed by Sarah Gaunt herself, the Scavengers' uniforms are skintight two-tone jumpsuits decorated with black stripes. Fawn's costume is two shades of purple, Curare is gray and black, Polyphemus' is green and orange, and Pilot's suit resembles many of the X-Men's uniforms with a yellow-and-blue palette. Michele Bandini's variant cover for The Uncanny X-Men #42 provides a clearer look at the Scavengers' costumes, and it adds a unique piece of headwear for each. Polyphemus leads the pack with a silver-and-orange, high-tech version of Cyclops' visor. Curare and Pilot have different styles of angular sunglasses, black for her and golden for him. And lastly, Fawn sports large white lenses with thick black borders, akin to Spider-Man's lenses and certain versions of Black Cat's mask. This variant cover also confirms that Curare is the only member of the Scavengers who wears a jacket on top of her costume. Which Scavenger do you like the most?
