Despite Wanda Maximoff’s untimely death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, her story continues with yet another new entry coming in October 2026. The Scarlet Witch is easily one of the most tragic figures in the entire MCU, with her character suffering incredible loss in almost every entry where she appeared. In her MCU debut, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Wanda is introduced as an orphaned girl who, alongside her brother, was kept in a lab and experimented on for much of her youth. With this awful upbringing leading her to initially side with Ultron, Wanda fights against the Avengers, before eventually realizing Ultron is the true villain, and switching sides. Unfortunately, the final battle with the other Avengers results in her brother, Pietro's death, leaving Wanda with no connection to her past. Thankfully, with the Avengers, and specifically Vision, Wanda found her future. But, of course, Wanda’s happiness had to be short-lived once again, and when Thanos and his goons came to claim the Infinity Stones, Vision’s life was lost, leading to Wanda having a breakdown and taking over an entire city, as we saw play out in WandaVision. Evidently, things continued to go wrong for Wanda, but her legacy lives on in yet another MCU project due to arrive in just two weeks. VisionQuest Arrives On Disney+ From October 14 After the events of WandaVision, it was clear that Wanda had become broken, which led to her inevitable fate in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as she struggled to live in a reality without her children. But her actions breaking down the walls between realities did have consequences, with her son, Billy, appearing in Agatha All Along, and now, VisionQuest is confirmed to bring Tommy back along with the new White Vision. In this way, VisionQuest marks the end of the Scarlet Witch trilogy and seeks to resolve the story that began with Wanda’s tragedy. And while little is known about what the future looks like for Vision, Tommy, and Billy, the simple fact that all three are alive in the MCU gives hope to the idea that Wanda’s legacy will live on. Not in the horror that she carried out in her final, broken years, but in the people who made her life worth living to begin with. VisionQuest will also cover a lot of ground in rebuilding this new iteration of Vision, whose death was a defining moment at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. The characters' return will not be straightforward, and as evidenced in the trailers, there are a lot of conflicting voices competing for Vision’s attention. The Scarlet Witch Trilogy Has Been A Highlight Of The Multiverse Saga While the Multiverse Saga has undoubtedly had its problems, there have been a handful of captivating stories within the wider era that stand out for their extraordinary contribution. For one, Loki seasons 1 and 2 managed to neatly tie together the previous era with this new fractured multiverse, and even navigate the exit of a character that was intended to be a major player in the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga in a way that felt complete. From the TV side of things, WandaVision and Agatha All Along are two other shows of the series that feel deeply tied to the Multiverse Saga, offer compelling character arcs, and push the narrative of the wider saga along. This has unfortunately been rather rare in the latest era of the MCU, but the Scarlet Witch’s dark tale has proven to be one of the brightest spots of the entire run. Now, with VisionQuest just around the corner, it seems as though Wanda’s story might finally be at an end, as the characters most closely tied to her complete their arcs and move on. There is no way to tell for certain what's next for these characters, but whatever the case, VisionQuest promises to be an adventure worth diving into.
