Sign in to your ScreenRant account For a long while after it was announced an eye-watering four years ago, the Iron Man game from EA Motive was no longer on anyone’s radar. This was for the best, anyway, as it meant that many Marvel fans were content to be patient, but fans weren’t wrong to also be concerned that EA Motive’s Iron Man game would never actually see the light of day, especially when Monolith was shuttered and its Wonder Woman game was canceled on DC’s side of the fence. That said, a leaked trailer for this Iron Man game revealed it publicly recently. Leaks aren’t always legitimate, and any rumor or leak that appears online should instantly be met with skepticism concerning its validity, but EA Motive courageously chose to get out in front of the leak. Not only did this confirm that what we saw in the leak is indeed representative of the game (albeit in an unfinished state, of course), but it also might’ve confirmed what the official title of the game could be. As per Twitter/X, EA Motive addressed the leak the same day via a post on its official social media account, in a way that was commendably transparent and positive. Interestingly, while we didn’t have an official title for this game before, and one still hasn’t been confirmed or announced, the social media account itself being named “Marvel’s Iron Man” seems to suggest that Marvel’s Iron Man will indeed be what EA Motive’s Iron Man game is called. This wouldn’t at all be an unprecedented title for the game, as it’s become a common naming convention to throw “Marvel’s” before the titular protagonist superhero’s name. For example, Insomniac’s Spider-Man games and Wolverine game are specifically titled Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Wolverine, respectively, as if it was necessary for “Marvel’s” to clarify that these are Marvel characters. It’s like if a new Superman game was titled “DC’s Superman.” It’d be one thing if only Insomniac had adopted the “Marvel’s” moniker and taken ownership of it, but Firaxis’ Marvel’s Midnight Suns and Arkane’s Marvel’s Blade did, too. This means that “Marvel’s” can be shared by any developer and their own original iteration of iconic Marvel characters, regardless of whether or not they share a continuity/universe. Either way, it’d make sense if Marvel’s Iron Man was the name that EA Motive has landed on, but only time will tell when we might find out with certainty if that’s true, as well as what the finished product of this Iron Man game will look like.
