Wolverine is an example of four distinct character categories: First, Logan is a feral mutant, possessing animalistic hyper-acute senses, an accelerated cellular healing factor, and a predatory instinct that links him to characters like Sabretooth and Feral. Second, Wolverine is the Weapon Plus program's main test subject, which also includes Deadpool and Nuke. And lastly, Wolverine is permanently tied to the X-Men, having served as the team's brawler for years. The Marvel multiverse contains famous alternate-universe variations of the classic Wolverine, such as the post-apocalyptic Old Man Logan and Age of Apocalypse Wolverine. However, there are lesser-known Wolverine variants who stand out due to their unique appearance and origins. Recently, Mojo ordered the creation of six new Wolverine clones: K-Pop Wolvie, Cap'n Wolvie, Canuck Wolverine, Thin-Wolverine, Wolverteen, and Wolvie-Kawaii, plus the member of the Jeff Coast Avengers, Mecha Wolverine. Within Earth-616, the highly advanced, fully sentient cybernetic android twin built by Donald Pierce, Albert, possesses Logan's exact memories, and he often teams up with a time-traveling robot child named Elsie-Dee. While there are countless multiversal Wolverine variants across all the timelines Marvel has presented so far, there's also a different kind of alternate-reality counterpart to Logan. The Wolf With A Gun Promises To Be The Best Member Of The Savage Champions Wolverine #27; Written By Saladin Ahmed; Art By Julius Ohta & Jesus Arbutov Logan is currently learning the intricacies of the Adamantine mythology in the pages of Saladin Ahmed, Julius Ohta, and Jesus Arbutov's Wolverine, where the titular mutant hero has been meeting each member of the Savage Champions. After the Savage Champions make their debut to help Wolverine defeat the embodiment of the Adamantine, Logan reunites with the trio. First, Logan teams up with the samurai warrior Red Hare. Then, Wolverine and Red Hare crossed paths with the prehistoric humanoid Boneclaw. And now, in Wolverine #27, the Savage Champions reunite with the Wolf with a Gun, a gun-slinging cowboy. Previously, the Wolf with a Gun showcased his impressive potential by shooting the Adamantine with his adamantium gun and bullets, which become the first weapons to make the living metal feel pain. After Red Hare and Boneclaw get their time in the spotlight throughout Wolverine #26, it's up to the Wolf with a Gun to display his skills against the Adamantine mammoth. If he manages to land the final blow on the creature, the Wolf with a Gun would cement himself as the undeniable best member of the Savage Champions, even more effective in battle than Wolverine himself. Wolverine's First Three Savage Champion Siblings May Only Be The Beginning Wolverine's Adamantine Siblings Must Be Wilder Than The Spider-Verse's Heroes Logan's recruitment into the multiversal Savage Champions introduces a new layer to his personal mythos, but the arrival of Red Hare, Boneclaw, and the Wolf with a Gun hints at a much grander cross-dimensional network. Considering how varied these first three warriors already are, such a small sample of Savage Champions suggests an incredibly braod array of similar characters, all wielding metal in very different ways, and all of them sharing the same mystical bond to the sentient Spirit of Metal. The potential pipeline for future recruits is infinitely wide, and the current squad could be but a brief prologue for a sprawling multiversal army. Wolverine's expanding brotherhood has the necessary ingredients to become more unpredictable and more dangerous than the countless web-slinging heroes of the Spider-Verse. Alternate spider-variants usually have similar web-swinging powers, moral codes, and origins. Meanwhile, the Savage Champions may pull from entirely untamed historical eras and mythological realms. Their enemies may also change just as dramatically. The first embodiment of Adamantine took the shape of an armored warrior in Wolverine #20, and the second took the shape of a mammoth.
