Charlie Cox's next Daredevil appearance has had its release date revealed, and it will come before Daredevil: Born Again season 3, which is the final season of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series. Cox's Daredevil has been on a long journey. First, the actor led what many believe to be the best Marvel TV show in the form of Netflix's Daredevil. After that show and the rest of Marvel's The Defenders Saga series were canceled by Netflix, Cox returned in the full-on MCU at Marvel Studios in Spider-Man: No Way Home. That led to multiple appearances in MCU shows on Disney+, with Cox eventually getting to lead another Daredevil series, Daredevil: Born Again. Sadly, after two seasons, the announcement that nobody wanted has come. The upcoming Daredevil: Born Again season 3, which will reunite the Defenders — Cox's Daredevil, Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones, Mike Colter's Luke Cage, and Finn Jones' Iron Fist — will be the final season of the Marvel TV show. That does not mean that the studio is done with these actors as the heroes. In fact, we already know that Marvel is using Cox elsewhere. Higheror Lower? That show is Disney+'s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. In season 1, Cox voiced another version of Daredevil, with the Devil of Hell's Kitchen fighting Spider-Man around a helicopter on a rooftop. Now, season 2 and Cox's Daredevil return are around the corner. That was not the only exciting reveal about the upcoming animated series. Also at the event, Marvel unveiled new Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 footage, and Cox's version of Daredevil was present. That said, Daredevil only appeared in a quick flash to show he will be in the new episodes, with other Marvel characters like the Shocker and Gwen Stacy included in that sequence of flashes. It all culminated in Spider-Man wearing the symbiote suit. Cox's upcoming Daredevil appearance is exciting, as it will once again allow Marvel fans to watch those two characters together onscreen. The main MCU version of Daredevil was one of the most requested characters by fans for a Spider-Man: Brand New Day appearance. However, while Jon Bernthal's Punisher played a key role in the 2026 MCU movie, Cox's Matt Murdock was nowhere to be seen. In Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2, Marvel could either have Spider-Man and Daredevil team up in their suits, or perhaps put Daredevil against an out-of-control symbiote suit Spider-Man, which would be just as exciting. Daredevil's MCU Future Might Be Connected To The Big Screen Image credit: JoJo Whilden/Marvel/Disney Daredevil: Born Again season 3 has a very low chance of featuring Spider-Man. That said, the fact that Cox's MCU TV show is ending with its next season does increase the chances that fans will be able to finally see the actor in full Daredevil suit sharing the screen with Tom Holland's Spider-Man, rather than just the Matt Murdock and Peter Parker dynamic they brought to life in Spider-Man: No Way Home. With Daredevil's solo series canceled, Marvel could be setting him up to jump to the movies, much like the Punisher, who does not have a Disney+ solo series to lead. That opens the door for many possibilities, with Spider-Man 5 being the perfect occasion to put Cox's Daredevil on the big screen alongside Holland's Spider-Man. That said, given how 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars will be released after Daredevil: Born Again season 3, that could be the massive MCU event that brings all the Defenders, who will reunite in the live-action series, to theaters. Before Daredevil: Born Again's final season and Avengers: Secret Wars will be Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2, and its use of Cox's Daredevil is an exciting note to start what could be a monumental year for the Marvel hero.
