Spider-Man and Wolverine are two of Marvel's most iconic heroes, and both have been the two main faces of the brand at various points in the past few decades. It's not a coincidence that their costumes are so easily recognizable, as their red-and-blue and yellow-and-blue palette are unmistakable at first sight and instantly communicate their heroism. Peter Parker and Logan have undergone physical transformations more than once in the comics. When Magneto rips the adamantium out of his skeleton, Wolverine's body devolves into a feral noseless hominid, and when he loses control of his rage, he becomes an unstoppable animalistic version of himself, blinded by berserker rage. Meanwhile, Spider-Man has transformed into Man-Spider through artificial means, and into a more insectoid hero when he accepts the part of him he constantly supresses. Although Peter Parker and Logan are the original owners of the Spider-Man and Wolverine mantles, their direct successors, Miles Morales and Laura Kinney, are just as worthy of the titles. Wolverine And Spider-Man Are The Wildest Part About Marvel's New Manga Universe Marvel Mangaverse: Web of Blood #1; Written By Joe Kelly And Jack Kelly; Art By Kenny Ruiz Marvel is launching a new line of Mangaverse titles this September, with the introduction of a new generation of heroes such as Ironheart, Magik, Kate Bishop, and Psylocke, with Laura Kinney a.k.a. Wolverine and Miles Morales a.k.a. Spider-Man at the center of this continuity. Psylocke combines her psionic abilities with those of the Ghost Rider, and Ironheart matches her technological might with mysticism. However, Wolverine and Spider-Man steal the show with their redesigns, as Laura's serrated claws and X-shaped facial scars, plus Miles' red hoodie, baggy pants, and arm bandages help them look ripped straight out of a stylish battle shōnen manga. Web of Blood's Laura Kinney is named "Weapon X-Tremis," which suggests a new connection to Iron Man lore. At D23 2026, Marvel has shown an exclusive new glimpse at the pages of Marvel Mangaverse: Web of Blood, which also presents the Mangaverse's Doctor Strange. Other characters involved in Marvel Mangaverse: Web of Blood are Nick Fury, known as the "Self-Appointed Spymaster Supreme" and his team of Ultimate Avengers, a group of Avengers-themed robots, as well as Illyana Rasputin a.k.a. Magik, who starts out as a rival to Wolverine parallel to her own story in Web of Destiny. The Mangaverse's Spider-Man And Wolverine Have Their Own Manga Transformations Miles Morales And Laura Kinney Meet A Classic Shonen Trope The new Marvel Mangaverse takes its manga influence a step further by giving Miles Morales' Spider-Man and Laura Kinney's Weapon X-Tremis unique transformations. As teased by promotional material, Miles' transformation gives his Mangaverse Spider-Man design a supernatural upgrade with red lightning in the shape of his lenses and a pair of horns floating around his face. Laura's transformation goes even further into monstrous shōnen territory, as her body and face become covered in eyes and a strange green, techno-organic-looking textures. At some point, she will also sport a full-body green-and-yellow suit of armor, with enormous spikes, an angular helmet, and additional eyes scattered across its surface. These transformations recall the many temporary upgrades that Dragon Ball and Naruto's characters can tap into during battle. Just like Saiyans can access higher forms of Super Saiyan power and Naturo gradually explores his Sage, Nine-Tails, Kurama Mode, Baryon, and Six Paths Sage modes, the Marvel Mangaverse's Wolverine and Spider-Man may be able to communicate their increased power through their dramatic visual alterations.
