Marvel Officially Debuts "All-New Fantastic Four" Roster, All Members and Powers

Marvel just introduced a new version of the Fantastic Four to its mainstream continuity, as the founding heroes split into two groups to fight back against Hela, Marvel's new Queen in Black. With Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman leading the 'Fantastic Five' from the Baxter Building, the Human Torch and the Thing head into battle, meeting up with two surprising allies to form what Johnny Storm calls 'The All-New Fantastic Four.' Following the events of Queen in Black #4 (Al Ewing, Iban Coello, Paco Medina, GURU-eFX and Clayton Cowles), here are the two new Fantastic Four teams and their respective rosters, including recent power changes for the founding members. The All-New Fantastic Four As part of Queen in Black, Hela has stolen the powers of the King in Black, dispatching an army of symbiote-empowered aliens to attack Earth. In response, the Thing and the Human Torch hit the streets, battling it out with the Queen in Black's most powerful followers, including Kree warrior Noh-Varr and former herald of Galactus Firelord. The alliance that Johnny Storm refers to as 'the All-New Fantastic Four' are a combat-focused team, successfully taking out some of the most powerful warriors in the galaxy not just by working together, but by literally combining their powers. The Human Torch, aka Johnny Storm The All-New Fantastic Four includes two members of the original team, with Human Torch wielding his flames against the heat-sensitive symbiotes. The Thing and Human Torch have years of experience fighting the Kree soldiers who have become Hela's Symbiote Legion Blue, taking the responsibility of protecting New York. The Human Torch is capable of manifesting and absorbing flame, and recently leveled-up his ability to create constructs out of living fire. Johnny is mostly using this new level of control to manifest 'Flame-O' - a duplicate of his own form which seems to act on his subconscious thoughts, essentially giving the team a second Human Torch (albeit one who only exists so long as Johnny is conscious.) The Thing, aka Benjamin Grimm The Thing remains the physical muscle of the All-New Fantastic Four, with a durable rocky carapace and enough strength to take on the Hulk (albeit rarely successfully.) One of the big advantages of having the Thing and Human Torch on the team is that Ben is essentially immune to heat, allowing him to hold symbiotes in place to be dispatched - something that comes in clutch against Firelord. Nova, aka Richard Rider Nova is a galactic hero respected across the galaxy, and (following the events of the epic Imperial event) the living repository of the Nova Force and Xandarian Worldmind, the latter being an AI database/memorial of the now-defunct Nova Corps which will permanently shut down if he ever uses 100% of his power. Nova is incredibly strong, fast, and can unleash powerful energy blasts. This issue reveals that he can successfully charge his power by drawing on Johnny Storm's flames, making them a uniquely powerful combo team. It's through Johnny charging up Nova (while the other members hold Firelord still) that the All-New Fantastic Four are able to take out their incredibly powerful adversary. Captain Alliance, aka R'gars A recent addition to Marvel lore, R'gars is a superhero of the former Kree/Skrull Empire - an unlikely political alliance that shattered following the events of Imperial. Essentially an alien Captain America (complete with his own shield), Captain Alliance represents the hope of peace between the ancient alien enemies. Dispatched to investigate mysterious moves by the Chitauri, R'gars was one of the first people to learn that Hela had become the Queen in Black, and headed to Earth to warn its heroes. While he arrived too late, he's been a powerful ally in protecting Earth. A skilled fighter, R'gars has advanced shapeshifting, even for a Skrull. As well as the usual power of disguise, he can also change size, manipulate his density and consciously heal from even serious injury. He's also an expert martial artist who is trained to fight with a near-unbreakable shield. Despite his seeming similarities to Captain America (including his name sounding like 'Rogers'), Captain Alliance has apparently never heard of the Sentinel of Liberty, with Spider-Man branding his existence a case of "parallel evolution." Meanwhile, The Fantastic Five... While the All-New Fantastic Four are fighting on the streets, the Fantastic Five are working on a bigger-picture strike against the symbiote-empowered aliens spreading across Earth. Reed Richarss and Sue Storm are directing the team's efforts, while attempting to weaponize their allies' unique superpowers and connection to the event's two big bads - Knull and Hela. Mister Fantastic and The Invisible Woman, aka Reed Richards and Susan Storm Recent comics have seen Invisible Woman officially take over as leader of the Fantastic Four. Marvel has been gradually ramping up Invisible Woman's powers over the last few years, with feats like turning the Sun itself invisible and creating a functioning jet out of invisible constructs. Invisible Woman is currently considered one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel Universe, boasting both massive power and exacting fine control. Meanwhile, Reed Richards remains the smartest man on Earth, with the superpower to stretch his body. Recent comics have explored how Reed's 'human' shape isn't fixed, for example shifting his eyes to the tips of his fingers. With Ben and Reed out protecting New York and team ally Black Cat on a mission, it was Reed who branded the heroes operating out of the Baxter Building 'The Fantastic Five,' handing out new '5' logos to the heroes below... Spider-Man, aka Peter Parker The longtime unofficial fifth member of the Fantastic Four is now official, as Peter Parker fights alongside the Fantastic Five. Spider-Man possesses enhanced strength, agility and a near-supernatural danger sense, which was recently upgraded to allow him to fight purely on instinct. Venom, aka Mary Jane Watson Venom's latest host is Mary Jane Watson, with the two bonding after the Venom War event and unable to separate. Mary Jane has been a particularly creative host for Venom, unlocking new ways to use the symbiote's shapeshifting powers, such as turning Venom into a submarine. This new Venom is infused with Eganrac - a semi-mystical substance which acts like Kryptonite to symbiotes in Carnage's lineage. This substance makes Venom particularly effective against other symbiotes, but also limits the hero's own maximum strength. Reed is currently trying to weaponize the Eganrac, with Queen in Black #4 ending with the unexpected result of his experiments... Codex, aka Dylan Brock The half-human, half-symbiote son of Eddie Brock's Venom, Codex has a unique ability known as the Chain-Breaker. Able to manifest a symbiote sword, Codex can sever a given symbiote's connection to the symbiote hivemind, and thus prevent the King/Queen in Black from controlling them. Reed was hoping to use this ability to defeat Hela's army, but sadly her magic has prevented it being effective (this wouldn't normally be the case, but because events in The Immortal Thor erased Asgardians from human memory, no-one has any counter to their unique brand of magic.) As well as the Chain-Breaker, Codex has the usual symbiote powers of shapeshifting, enhanced strength, and improved agility. He's also something of a symbiote demigod, able to sense and control them in close proximity.
