Frank Castle is an urban guerrilla fighter, a hunter who relies on precision and the terrifying psychological impact of being a lone man in a trench coat stepping out of the shadows. The War Machine armor represents global warfare, designed to engage top-tier military threats and Avengers-level foes. For the Punisher, using a flying, missile-laden tank to clear a mob warehouse is both overkill and a betrayal of his personal warfare. More importantly, the Punisher is wary of becoming reliant on high-tech crutches that can be remotely hacked, deactivated, or depleted of power. Frank Castle believes conventional firearms and combat blades are infallible tools since they require no satellite uplinks or arc reactors to function. If a pistol jams, he clears the chamber, whereas if a suit of armor loses power or gets hacked, he's as good as dead.
