Iron Man is one of Marvel's most popular characters. Robert Downey Jr. made it so by playing Stark in the MCU's timeline of projects. Downey is the one everyone is looking for in connection to Iron Man and the Avengers in 2026. After all, the popular actor is set to return to the MCU to play the main villain of the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, aka Doctor Doom. This is the first Avengers movie in the MCU's Multiverse Saga, and Marvel has gone to the big guns, Downey and Captain America actor Chris Evans. That said, Marvel has yet to reveal whether Downey will only be playing Doctor Doom in the Avengers movie or if the actor will also return as Iron Man. While Tony Stark died in 2019's Avengers: Endgame, there are many ways in which he could return, with the multiverse and time travel at the MCU's disposition. Before that, another Avengers release has come out. While older fans wait for Avengers: Doomsday to fight it out with Dune: Part Three at the box office in December, younger fans can take to Disney+ to watch the recently released Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up! The animated special was released on the streaming service on September 25, currently ranking 6th on Disney+ in the United States. Iron Man's design is a blast. Marvel Has Revealed What Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up!'s Iron Man Looks Like Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up! is the second animated special released for this universe's iteration of the Avengers. The first release was Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team-Up!, which came out on Disney+ on October 16, 2025. Both of the specials were created to set up 2027's Avengers: Mightiest Friends, a new animated series set within this shared universe. Iron Man is one of the main characters of the Halloween release, with the Avengers team present in the special also including Spider-Man, Black Panther, Captain America, the Hulk, and the Wasp. All Marvel heroes come with vibrant designs. In Iron Man's case, Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up! sees Tony Stark don an Iron Man armor that does not cover his whole body, which tracks, given that the show is not designed for heavy action like Downey's Iron Man dealt with in the MCU. Instead, Iron Man wears his traditional red and golden armor from the chest up, with black armored shirt and pants connecting that to his technologically advanced boots. Iron Man's chest features a white, upside-down triangle shape inside a bright blue circle, with that same blue glow spreading itself to other parts of the suit. How Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up!'s Iron Man Compares To Other Versions Of The Marvel Hero? Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up!'s Iron Man design feels more modern than Downey's first few suits in the MCU, even though there is a clear inspiration from the character's fan-favorite Iron Man Mark III armor from his Marvel Studios debut. The main difference between those two suits comes down to the lack of armor in the mid-section of the animated design, as Downey's Iron Man wore the red and gold design from head to toe. Additionally, the white/blue glow from the live-action Iron Man armor was contained to the Arc Reactor and the suit's palms. The latter was connected to Iron Man's repulsor blast attacks in the MCU, whereas the animated counterpart features the lights as design choices scattered throughout the suit. At the end of the day, Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up!'s Iron Man design is a nice blend of classic elements and fresh ideas, making for a colorful suit that stands out even when put together against other Avengers' costumes.
