Marvel Legends x Magic: The Gathering Action Figures Include Exclusive Cards

This year’s convention was so loaded with reveals and announcements that you’re bound to have missed a thing or two, like the reveal of new Marvel Legends action figures, all of which come paired with an exclusive Magic: The Gathering card. Four new figures with matching cards you can’t find anywhere else were revealed by Hasbro during SDCC. The quartet is all based on designs from the Marvel comics. However, all four appear to have been selected due to the fact that they have some relevancy to what’s about to go down in the MCU. Hasbro The first of the four figures is more relevant than anyone to the MCU right now - Doctor Doom. The new Marvel Legends figure doesn’t look like Doom from Avengers: Doomsday, though. Its design is based on the iconic villain’s look in Doom 2099. Decked out in futuristic armor and a matching Doom 2099 MTG card. Hasbro Doomsday will also, somehow, see Steve Rogers return to the MCU as Captain America. Joining Doom in the newly revealed Marvel Legends range is a Cap’ figure based on the character from Avengers: Twilight. Rogers is older, more battle-tested, so potentially closer to the version of Cap’ we’ll see in theaters later this year. The figure has a shield, of course, and the Twilight version of Captain America also comes equipped with his own card. Hasbro Figure number three is based on a character we’re hopefully going to see Captain America go up against soon. Not in Doomsday, but in Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. I am, of course, referring to Black Panther. Based on how the character appears in the Secret Wars comics, the figure has a vibranium spear and even an Infinity Gauntlet loaded with all six Infinity Stones, both of which are present in the matching card art. We’re getting Secret Wars after Doomsday, and then a new Black Panther movie after that, so watch out for this version of the character in the MCU down the line. Hasbro Rounding out the Marvel Legends x MTG action figure drop from SDCC is Invisible Woman, but not how you remember her - unless you’ve played Marvel Rivals. Sue Storm is decked out in her Malice gear from the Fantastic Four comics, matching the Malice skin she can don in Rivals. The figure has interchangeable hands and, just like the other three, comes with an exclusive card so that your Marvel Legends action figure can be a part of your next MTG deck. The price and release dates for the next four Marvel Legends Magic: The Gathering figures haven’t been revealed. However, last year’s figures, which focused on Spider-Man characters, had an MSRP of $39.99, so expect something similar for these new reveals.
