Maruti Suzuki expects 30,000 deliveries on Dhanteras, Brezza and Baleno see strong demand

Maruti Suzuki expects to deliver around 30,000 vehicles on Dhanteras this year, with the Brezza and Baleno emerging as key contributors to the carmaker's strong festive-season performance. The company has already recorded retail sales of over 4 lakh vehicles between Ganesh Chaturthi and November 6, reflecting sustained demand during the festive period.Speaking about the festive-season performance, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, said the company was witnessing strong demand across its portfolio, with the recently updated Brezza and Baleno receiving an encouraging response.“We are expecting to deliver around 30,000 vehicles on Dhanteras this year. What is particularly encouraging is that the strong momentum is not limited to one day. From Ganesh Chaturthi on September 14 to November 6, we have already recorded retail sales of over 4 lakh vehicles, compared to 3.46 lakh units during the same period last year,” Banerjee said.He further highlighted the demand for the two updated models, adding that the Baleno had crossed 50,000 sales within two months, while the Brezza had crossed 70,000 units during the same period. Both models, he noted, continue to have substantial pending bookings. Maruti Suzuki records highest-ever monthly sales in OctoberThe strong festive demand comes on the back of Maruti Suzuki recording its highest-ever monthly sales in October 2026. The 2026 Brezza, introduced in July, received a comprehensive update, including the introduction of a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine. Producing 110bhp and 170Nm, the engine is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, marking a new performance-oriented option in the compact SUV's lineup. The familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 103bhp and 139Nm, continues to be offered with six-speed manual and automatic transmission options. The updated model also gets a factory-fitted CNG option with an underbody-mounted cylinder to improve boot-space utilisation.Meanwhile, the 2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno arrived in September with a significant mid-cycle refresh. Priced from Rs 6.10 lakh (ex-showroom), the premium hatchback received a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, replacing the earlier powertrain. The engine is shared with the Swift and Dzire.Another major addition is Level 2 ADAS, making the updated Baleno one of the more feature-rich offerings in the premium hatchback segment. The model also gets upgraded cabin equipment and additional safety technology. With both models recording strong booking numbers and the festive season still driving demand, Maruti Suzuki will look to sustain this momentum through the remainder of the year.Subscribe to Auto Today Magazine - Ends
