The fan-favourite cream liqueur isn’t always cheap, often costing around £22 a bottle. But now, financial guru Martin Lewis has crunched the numbers, to work out which retailers have been slashing prices, in what Money Saving Expertcall ‘The Battle of the Baileys’. And already, three supermarkets are offering the Irish beverage under £10. With Christmas set to cost an average of £1,502 per family, we’ll take any savings we can. So which supermarket is the cheapest? The Money Saving Expert team found that a one-litre bottle is currently just £9.97 at Morrisons, both in-store and online. A very reasonable excuse to start Christmas shopping early, if you ask me (Picture: Getty Images) Amazon is also matching that price on site at £9.97. Asda isn’t far behind, selling the same bottle for £10 in-store and online, just 3p more than its rivals, until Sunday, November 1, so you’ll need to act soon to take advantage of the savings. If you have a loyalty card, there are savings to be had elsewhere, too. Do note that these deals apply exclusively to the classic Original flavour, so you’ll have to pay more if you’re holding out for flavours such as the limited edition Chocolate Orange (returning this year with an RRP of £16.50) or the Chocolate Pistachio. Morrisons’ deal ends Sunday, November 1, while Amazon hasn’t confirmed when its offer will end. Bailey’s fans need to head to Morrisons (Picture: Matthew Horwood/Getty Images) As reported by Money Saving Expert (MSE), this is the lowest price of the year thus far, with prices not previously being this cheap until December last year, making now a great time to stock up, especially if you want to spread your Christmas spending across the months. If you’re hoping for an even steeper discount, the absolute lowest price MSE has seen historically is £8.50 at Morrisons for More Card members. However, that particular deal required a minimum spend of £45 on groceries. What other supermarkets are offering deals? Tesco is selling the one-litre bottle for £13 with a Clubcard both in-store and online, with the offer running until Thursday, December 24, leaving you time right up until Christmas Eve. Because let’s face it, you’ll need a second stock-up by then. Sainsbury’s is offering the same £13 price to Nectar card holders until Tuesday, November 3.
