MARKS and Spencer is reviving four retro chocolate bars from the 70s – including the chain’s “answer to Snickers”. Hitting shelves tomorrow, shoppers will soon be able to purchase the nostalgic snack. Four flavours are set to hit the shelves, and are the supermarket giant’s answer to some fan-favourite chocolate bars. Similar to a Snickers, Jet is filled with a soft nougat, peanut and caramel centre. Fans of the Now bar find the biscuit and soft caramel centre to be the store’s take on a Twix. The Spark bar is loaded with soft nougat and caramel, mimicking a Mars Bar. Meanwhile Coconut Grove’s soft coconut centre closely imitates a Bounty. M&S told The Sun: “M&S Food is bringing back four retro chocolate bars from the St Michael archives. Most read in Money “Originally part of our 1980s confectionery range, Jet Sparks, Now! and Coconut Grove will return to Foodhalls next week, giving customers the chance to rediscover much-loved favourites from the era. “Each bar, wrapped in nostalgic St Michael packaging, offers its own distinctive flavour and texture.” The St Michael brand was owned by M&S from 1927, selling many goods under the name. It was dropped in 2000 after 72 years as part of a rebranding. However, the retailer revived the brand in 2021, selling menswear using the vintage label after clothing donning the brand name became popular on second-hand clothing platforms. Another retro chocolate bar was brought back last year, with M&S re-introducing the Take 4 from its archives. The sweet snack was similar to a KitKat, and first sold in the 1980s. Comment now
