Mark your calendars: South Carolina announces 2027 SEC softball schedule

Head softball coach Ashley Chastain Woodard is entering her third season as South Carolina’s head softball coach, and the Gamecocks are looking for bounce-back year in Columbia. In her first year at South Carolina, the Gamecocks finished 44-17 (13-11 SEC), and reached the Columbia Super Regional. Last season, they finished the 2026 season at 32-28 (7-17 SEC), and ended their tourney run in the Los Angeles Regional. On Wednesday afternoon, the SEC 24-game conference schedule was released for the 2027 softball season. The Gamecocks will play in eight three-game series, with conference play spanning from mid-March to mid-May. All schedules are subject to change, including the move of Easter Sunday and some conference series to wrap-up on Mondays. Have a question for the GamecockCentral staff? Ask it now on The Insiders Forum. South Carolina will open SEC play at home when they host Arkansas (March 12-14). After a bye weekend, it will go on the road to play Georgia (March 26-28). Then the Gamecocks return home to the start of a busy April slate against Mississippi State (April 2-4), before they travel to Lexington to play Kentucky (April 9-11). After that they will host Auburn (April 16-18) before they travel again to Ole Miss (April 23-25). To finish up the month of April, the Gamecocks will have their final home series against Oklahoma (April 30-May 2) before their regular-season finale in College Station against Texas A&M in a Thursday-Saturday series (May 6-8). The 2027 SEC Softball Tournament will span from May 11-15, taking place at Toyota Field in Madison, Ala. 15 of 16 SEC teams will participate in a single-elimination style tourney, with Vanderbilt not having a collegiate softball team. The non-conference portion of the schedule, including the rivalry matchup with Clemson, as well as game times and television designations are to be announced at a later date.
