Marco Rose laments 'very disappointing' Alex Scott injury as Bournemouth return timeline revealed

Marco Rose has aired his frustrations at Alex Scott’s injury that the midfielder suffered on international duty. The 23-year-old sustained a quad injury which forced him to withdraw from the Three Lions’ Nations League camp prematurely, and it was initially feared that he would be sidelined for two months. Bournemouth were reportedly furious that one of their star players would return to Dorset injured, with the Cherries looking to build on a positive start to Rose’s tenure at the Vitality Stadium. Now, the German has issued an update on Scott ahead of his side’s trip to Chelsea this weekend, with the Premier League back in action. Injured: Alex ScottGetty“It's an injury from a muscle, and we'll do pictures [scans] in some days again,” Rose said on Thursday. “But we're going to miss him, for sure, for four or five weeks. I'm very disappointed and it's a big loss. “We miss a very important player, but I don't want to blame anyone. “We are very happy that he made his debut for the English national team. He did well and we just hope that he is getting fit again quite soon.”Scott impressed while on international duty, and he was handed a first senior start for his country by Thomas Tuchel, as he lined up alongside Elliot Anderson in the 7-0 demolition of Croatia last week. It is believed that the midfielder played in that match despite feeling discomfort in his thigh, and that is what has angered Bournemouth more than anything else.
