Map shows London’s knife crime hotspots including posh borough

Between September 2025 and August 2026, a total of 13,649 crimes were reported in the capital, of which over half were connected to a robbery. The figure is down from the previous year, when knife-related offences in London surpassed 16,000 for the first time for the 12-month period ending March 2024. The worst borough for knife crime was Newham, with 824 cases logged with the Met Police over the last year. Second and third on the list were Southwark and Lambeth, which had 697 and 691 knife crimes in the same period. Central London remains a hotspot, with the posh borough of Westminster ranking high on the list with 635 knife crimes. But neighbouring Kensington and Chelsea saw far fewer cases, with only 166 recorded in the past year. At the other end of the spectrum, more rural boroughs recorded markedly fewer knife-related incidents, with just 116 knife-related offences recorded in Richmond-upon-Thames. A majority of the 13,548 victims were men, with 17.1 per cent of the attacks against women. Nearly half of victims were aged 25 or younger, while more than 3,000 were less than 17 years old at the time of the incident. Latest London news The Met recorded that 7,601 incidents – 55.6% – were part of a robbery; 1,490, or 10.9%, involved threat to kill; and 4,190, 30.7%, were referred to as ‘assault with injury’. The remaining 369 incidents are classed as ‘other’, and included homicides, attempted murder, sexual assault and rape. Where does your borough rank?
