A therapist reportedly told Andic to place himself and his father in the “extreme situation” to help purge an unhealthy emotional dependence. He has denied any wrongdoing and insisted his dad’s death was an accident. The interpreter, who lives in Barcelona, gave two voluntary statements to police in which she suffered a year of sleepless nights because of what she knew. She reportedly told cops that Lüderwaldt instructed Andic to perform the cliff edge exercise as a psychotherapeutic routine representing the “death of the father”. The interpreter handed over her mobile phone where police looked at texts between her and Lüderwaldt. She asked the therapist what had happened between Isak and Andic after the businessman’s death. Lüderwaldt allegedly replied: “Maybe it’s better if I don’t know — otherwise I might be next.” Andic’s account of the incident has now come under further scrutiny as he previously claimed he had learned about the trail from friends. But the interpreter told police that she selected the route under Lüderwaldt’s instruction. Andic’s repeated visits to the trail in the days before Isak’s death – on December 7, 8 and 10 – have already been cited as evidence of pre-meditation. The interpreter is expected to repeat the evidence to prosecutors, Andic’s defence team and a judge in the coming weeks. Police showed her photographs of the location where Isak fell in an attempt to establish if it was the same one she had selected. She allegedly declined to identify the exact location of the trail and a site visit has been postponed.
