Paul had been punched to the ground when the shopkeeper intervened in the attack, sustaining his own minor injuries. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! The shopkeeper administered CPR when Paul lost consciousness. He was then rushed to hospital, but sadly died from his injuries on July 12. Paul’s family are being supported by specially trained officers during this difficult time. A Sunshine worker told the Metro that Paul was a “really nice man” who came into the shop often as he lived locally. “He was in the shop all the time; he was our best customer. He lived locally and was always friendly.” Paul’s tragic death has sparked a murder probe, with two people being arrested so far. Most read in The Sun A man, 30, was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Lewisham. At the same property, a woman, 47, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both remain in police custody at a London police station. Detective Inspector Jon Moseling, the Senior Investigating Officer said: “Our thoughts remain with Paul’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time. “This is a significant update in our investigation, however our enquiries continue to establish the circumstances of this tragic incident.”
