EX–MANCHESTER UNITED star Wes Brown has given his verdict on whether Sir Alex Ferguson would have allowed Amazon cameras into the dressing room when he was in charge. The series has had critical acclaim with Premier League rivals Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham, while there have been similar success stories with Sunderland and Wrexham for shows on streaming rivals Netflix and Disney+. Such a thing might have been unthinkable in the days of 13-time Premier League winner Ferguson, who ruled the club with an iron fist and was notoriously protective against media intrusion. However, according to two-time Champions League and five-time Premier League winner Brown, Ferguson had changed towards the end of his legendary tenure at Old Trafford and would have been open to the idea. Speaking ahead of the BOYLE Sports Cup at Croke Park, where Man Utd beat Leeds on penalties in front of a sold out crowd, Brown said: “He did change a little bit near the end. “The gaffer always changed with the times and, yes, he is old school, but at the same time he understands when things change. “So, I’m guessing if he was still managing now, he’d be okay with it. But it’s a different challenge again.” Carrick is a media dream for the club, with his calm demeanour giving precious little away in press conferences – unlike his predecessor Ruben Amorim, who will be in the opposite dugout as United take on AC Milan, whom the Portuguese is now the manager of. But Brown believes his former team-mate will remain the same, even if – given the tumultuous nature of the club in the past 13 years, it is a bit of a gamble. The 46-year-old continued: “I think it’s brilliant for the fans because they see the inside of the club. “They see meetings that they don’t normally see, so it’s brilliant. That’s the way it’s gone. I’ve watched many American football ones. “It’ll be a little bit different. Will it change things? I think Michael will be the same sort of person he is. He understands the game, he understands Manchester United. But it’s a big difference. “Is it a bit of a gamble, maybe?
