ASTON VILLA have reportedly made a shock move for Manchester United winger Amad Diallo. Diallo, 24, featured regularly for United last season after Michael Carrick took charge in January. He played 2,428 minutes across 33 appearances, scoring twice and providing four assists. But the arrival of Bryan Mbeumo has made life more difficult for Diallo recently. Mbeumo is currently ahead of the Ivorian in the pecking order for the right-wing position, potentially leaving Diallo facing a battle for regular minutes. That could give Villa hope of luring him away from Old Trafford. Diallo’s preferred position is on the right flank-although he is capable of operating in several attacking roles. Diallo is contracted at Old Trafford until 2030, with the club holding an option to extend his deal for a further year. That leaves United in a strong negotiating position should Villa attempt to push through a deal. Carrick’s side are also unlikely to want to weaken their squad at this stage of the window. United are already facing interest in other attackers, with Fenerbahce reportedly keen on Marcus Rashford and Fiorentina interested in Joshua Zirkzee.
