TWO Manchester United academy lads, Louis Jackson and James Overy, are on the verge of permanently leaving the club. Australian Overy is close to returning to his home country while Jackson is in talks with a Scottish side. The 20-year-old spent part of last season on loan at National League club Solihull Moors, however only made two appearances for the West Midlands club. While Jackson is switching countries in the UK, fellow youngster Overy is changing continent. The Australian is joining Sydney FC. He joined United in 2024 and featured at Under-21 level last term. The 18-year-old was also part of the FA Youth Cup final squad beaten by Manchester City in May. Both deals are understood to include sell-on and buy-back clauses. Michael Carrick‘s team, who have targeted that position throughout the window, are still yet to get one in.
