Martinez, Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo are unlikely to be involved against Leeds United at Croke Park tonight as they have only had a handful of training sessions. But the trio are likely to get at least half-an-hour against Ruben Amorim’s AC Milan in Wroclaw on Saturday. It remains to be seen whether United coach Michael Carrick will put Martinez into the starting XI for their Premier League opener at Hull City on August 22. Harry Maguire and Ayden Heaven have started in all four of United’s pre-season matches but Heaven was culpable for Paris Saint-Germain’s opening goal on Saturday. Heaven was replaced by Leny Yoro at half-time as Carrick effectively started an audition process for the young centre backs to partner Maguire at Hull. Yoro had started the first three friendlies at right back as Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui were still away following their World Cup exploits.
