Man Utd get triple injury boost after Lisandro Martinez World Cup final scare and Sesko missing first three friendlies

LISANDRO MARTINEZ and Benjamin Sesko are both set to be fit for the start of the season for Manchester United. Michael Carrick has settled on a right-footed-left-footed partnership of Harry Maguire and Ayden Heaven while Leny Yoro has shifted to right back in United’s three pre-season friendlies so far. Sesko has sat out all three games but his rehabilitation from a shin injury is on track. The 23-year-old started outdoor training last week and is scheduled to participate in team sessions this week. Matthijs de Ligt’s own recovery from back surgery is also on track but he will miss the start of the season. The Dutchman has been missing since November, and underwent surgery on a back injury in May. United also expected new goalkeeper recruit Karl Darlow to be absent for the first half of pre-season after undergoing a procedure in June. Most read in Sport Darlow, 35, has not done any goalkeeping training since he joined United on a free three weeks ago. United travel straight from Gothenburg, where they face Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday, to Dublin for a six-day training camp when their full squad will assemble. Martinez, Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford are due to link up with their teammates in the Republic of Ireland. Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Matheus Cunha and Noussair Mazraoui will report for pre-season training on Monday. Comment now
