Sources stressed that the affected supporters did not outright confront Berrada as they informed him of their issues. Several fans have been penalised for using multiple logins on the same device, activity the club say is a “red flag”. The club said one device had accessed 1,088 accounts. Sun Sport revealed some actual touts’ have been unaffected due to the sophisticated methods that they use. In a lengthy statement on their website last week, United acknowledged the process had “caused significant concern and distress for some supporters”. United also thanked supporters for their feedback and challenging the club on how they conducted themselves. One supporter said the ordeal has “caused so much stress” and that seven of their family members currently have no access to their season tickets. Luca Black praised former chief executive Richard Arnold for attending every fans’ forum in person and had told Berrada that any success United achieve would be meaningless if he and friends are priced out from attending games at Old Trafford. Black wrote: “I don’t doubt [Berrada’s] intelligence and he can be warm on a personal level, treating me with respect whenever I’ve spoken to him. “But he is not a supporter of this football club. He is a businessman whose seemingly only measurement of success is revenue and results on the pitch. “Nothing in his response gave me any confidence that will change.” Comment now
