Man Utd announce world’s biggest training kit deal after year without sponsor and vow to invest money into first team

MANCHESTER UNITED have struck a record £20million training kit deal with British gambling firm Betway. The multi-year sponsorship is bigger than any other football club’s training kit or shirt sleeve sponsorship. A deal with Tezos, United’s previous training kit sponsors, expired at the end of that campaign and United went through the entirety of last season without a training kit sponsor. United sources claim they were deliberately patient and waited until the club were back in the Champions League to secure the partnership with Betway. Adidas renewed their long-standing association with United in 2023 and the club extended their deal with shirt sponsors Snapdragon the following year. Premier League clubs agreed to ban betting firm sponsorship on their matchday shirts after the 2025-26 campaign. DHL were United’s first training kit sponsor in 2011 before they were replaced by Aon in 2013. Aon’s eight-year run ended in 2021, the same year they stopped sponsoring United’s Carrington training complex. United chief business officer Marc Armstrong said: “The scale of our exciting new partnership with Betway reflects our growth strategy, the enduring global strength and appeal of Manchester United, and our ability to attract leading brands that want to engage with our vast worldwide fanbase.
