Man thrown off spinning ride at Incheon amusement park, taken to hospital

SEOUL – A man in his 30s was injured after being thrown from a “Disco Pang Pang” ride at an amusement park in Wolmido, Incheon, on Aug 23, a notoriously rough ride that spins and bounces as riders cling to a railing.According to the Incheon Fire Department, the accident occurred at around 9.23pm when the man was reportedly thrown from the ride by its rebound and fell to the ground.He complained of pain in his head and neck and was taken to a hospital by paramedics. He was reportedly not seriously injured.The police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident, including whether the amusement park had properly followed safety regulations.Disco Pang Pang is known for its intense spinning, bouncing and sudden movements. Riders sit along the edge of a circular platform and hold onto a railing as it moves.A DJ typically operates the ride while entertaining riders with teasing comments and adding forceful movements.
