Man notorious for allegedly sniffing women’s behinds arrested again in California

A registered sex offender with a history of arrests for allegedly crouching behind women and smelling them is back behind bars after police accused him of similar behavior at stores in Glendale.Calese Crowder, 39, was arrested Friday and was being held without bail on suspicion of violating his parole, according to Glendale police and jail records.Officers were called around 3:30 p.m. to a store in the 1500 block of West Glenoaks Boulevard after reports of a man who was allegedly “hunkered down” and getting unusually close to people to smell them, police said.Calese Crowder has a history of arrests involving similar allegations in Glendale and neighboring Burbank dating to 2021, according to police (City of Glendale)Officers were also dispatched to a Marshalls near South Brand Boulevard and East Broadway following a report of similar behavior.Police reviewed surveillance footage from the businesses and identified the man as Crowder.Officers later located him in the 100 block of South Brand Boulevard and took him into custody on suspicion of a parole violation.Crowder has a history of arrests involving similar allegations in Glendale and neighboring Burbank dating to 2021, according to police.He was arrested twice within two months last summer and later admitted violating his parole. He was sentenced to more than 100 days in jail.Crowder was also arrested in 2023 after allegedly peeping into a family's Glendale home.That same year, he attracted widespread attention after a woman posted a viral TikTok video that allegedly showed him crouching behind her at a Barnes & Noble bookstore in Burbank and attempting to smell her.Crowder remained jailed without bail following his latest arrest.
