Man in his 20s fighting for life after being ‘stabbed by screwdriver’ on newbuild site – as two men, both 36, arrested

NewsUK News A MAN is fighting for his life after allegedly being stabbed with a screwdriver on a newbuild site. Cops have arrested two men, both 36, after the victim was reportedly attacked in Purton, Wiltshire, yesterday morning. Emergency crews were scrambled to the Widham Gardens building site just after 11am. The victim, aged in his 20s, was then rushed to hospital, where he remains in a life-threatening condition. Another man, 36, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, Wiltshire Police confirmed. The alleged attacker was known to his victim, according to the force. Detective Chief Inspector Deb Hatch urged anyone with further information on the alleged stabbing to come forward. She said: “This is a serious incident which has left a man fighting for his life in hospital. “His family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time. Most read in The Sun “I can confirm that we have arrested two people in connection with the incident and we are not currently looking for anybody else. “I’d like to reassure the community that this is believed to be a targeted, isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the public. “There will be an increased policing presence in the area in the coming hours and days. “If you witnessed what happened, or you have any concerns, please come forward and speak with one of our officers.”
