Man held on charge of assaulting mother for quarrelling with his wife in Maduravoyal

Representative image | Photo Credit: Getty Images A 31-year-old man was arrested for assaulting his 70-year-old mother following a quarrel between her and his wife at Maduravoyal on Sunday night.The accused, Karthik, a resident of Cholan Nagar, attacked his mother Kanniyammal, 70, after she questioned his wife over talking to women from the neighbourhood outside their house. According to the police, the incident occurred on August 23.A verbal altercation broke out between Kanniyammal and her daughter-in-law. Hearing the commotion, Karthik intervened and assaulted his mother. Kanniyammal, who sustained injuries, was treated at a private hospital. Based on her complaint, the Maduravoyal police registered a case and arrested Karthik, 31.
