Man held for wife’s death in Keralam’s Malappuram

The police arrested a man on Thursday in connection with the death of his wife at Munderi near Pothukallu in Nilambur taluk. The body of Nisha, 37, of Appankappu, was found near a stream at Ettappara close to the tribal hamlet on Wednesday night.The police said the body was about three days old and had begun to decompose. A preliminary examination raised suspicion of murder.The investigation led the police to Nisha’s husband Suresh alias Poovi. He was taken into custody from Iruttukuthi tribal hamlet across the Chaliyar river, where the police said he had been hiding.Suresh initially denied the crime but later confessed during questioning, the police said.
