Man hacks to death rowdy in drunken brawl, arrested

Police arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with the murder of a rowdy, who was hacked to death in Thirumullaivoyal near Avadi.The victim, Gokul, 31, a resident of Church Street, Nagammai Nagar, Thirumullaivoyal, worked as a welder. His name is listed under the C-category rowdy list at the Thirumullaivoyal police station. The accused Rajesh, 31, a man known to Gokul from the same area, worked as an electrician.On Tuesday night, both Gokul and Rajesh were in an inebriated state in Nagammai Nagar. At that time, an argument broke out between them, which escalated into a dispute. Rajesh then brutally hacked Gokul with a knife. Severely injured, Gokul died on the spot.Upon receiving the information, the police recovered Gokul’s body and sent it to the Kilpauk Government Hospital.
