The discovery led to a heated confrontation with the restaurant staff, with the family demanding answers from the manager and chef.Piyush Agrawal, an X user, shared a detailed account of the incident along with videos on his social media account. The family had reportedly ordered vegetarian biryani from Taste of India at Terminal 1 of Bengaluru airport, near gates 16 and 17, but claimed they were served non-vegetarian food instead. In one of the videos, a woman, seemingly a member of the man's family, was seen holding out an empty plate with tiny pieces of chicken still visible on it.Recording the plate, the man said, "Look, we ordered veg biryani, and found tiny pieces of chicken in this." The confrontation soon grew heated, with another person, who appeared to be an airport staff member, yelling at the restaurant employees and demanding that they call the manager. Both the manager and the chef eventually arrived, but appeared to have little to say as the airport staff member continued questioning them and asking for an explanation. In his post, Agrawal said the family was strictly vegetarian and that even the children had unknowingly consumed the food. He added that the incident had caused considerable distress and hurt their religious sentiments.Sharing the details, he also claimed that the restaurant's manager and chef had confirmed that the food contained chicken. The family said it had the bill and other evidence, and urged the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Bengaluru airport authorities and other concerned officials to investigate the matter. They also called for CCTV footage and order records to be checked and strict action to be taken.Take a look at the post here:URGENT | BENGALURU AIRPORT T1 At Taste of India, Bengaluru Airport T1 (Gate 16–17), our family ordered VEG BIRYANI, clearly mentioned on the bill, but we were served NON-VEGETARIAN FOOD. We are a strictly vegetarian family, and even children unknowingly consumed it. This has caused severe distress and hurt our religious sentiments. Videos of our conversation with the restaurant manager & chef are attached. They also confirmed the food was having chicken. Bill and other evidence are also attached. We request FSSAI, Bengaluru Airport and concerned authorities to urgently investigate, check CCTV/order records and take strict action. @fssaiindia @BLRAirport @AirSewaIndia @jagograhakjago @PMOIndia @CMofKarnataka @DKShivakumar @JoshiPralhad @PrashantKej @AakashBansal94— Piyush Agrawal (@PiyushpaviA) October 30, 2026The incident triggered a debate online, with some users questioning why the family had chosen to eat at an outlet that served both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.Others argued that restaurants were responsible for ensuring that customers received exactly what they ordered, regardless of their dietary preferences.Several users also called for strict action against the restaurant if the family's allegations were established, arguing that food outlets needed to be held accountable for such mistakes. Some even suggested that substantial penalties would be necessary to prevent similar incidents in the future.- Ends
