Man fighting for life after falling from balcony at block of flats – as man in 20s arrested

A MAN is fighting for his life after falling from a balcony at a block of flats, as another man in his 20s is arrested on suspicion of murder. Cops were scrambled to Salford, Greater Manchester, just after midnight yesterday, after receiving reports that a man had fallen from a balcony. Greater Manchester Police said it had referred itself to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) because officers had earlier contact with the parties involved. A probe into the incident remains ongoing with the force asking anyone with any information that may assist their investigation to come forward. Chief Inspector Lee Gridley from GMP’s Salford district, said: “A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and he is currently being questioned in custody. The force said the horror is believed to be an isolated incident with no further risk posed to the public. “Our officers are working at pace to establish the full circumstances, and a scene will remain in place whilst the investigation continues. “We understand that incidents of this nature may cause concern within the community; however, we believe this is an isolated incident and that there is no wider risk to the public.
