Man dies after getting into difficulty in Cavan river

A man has died after getting into difficulty while swimming in a Co Cavan river.Gardaí and emergency services received reports of a person in the Annalee river at Drumaraw, Ballyhaise, at 8.30pm on Tuesday.The man, aged in his 20s, was taken from the water and pronounced dead at the scene.Gardaí, in a statement, said his body has been removed to Cavan Mortuary where a postmortem will be arranged at Our Lady’s National Hospital Navan.
