Man arrested in North West Queensland after reports of shot fired at vehicle

Police have arrested a man following reports of a shot fired in Kynuna last night.At 7:50pm, police were called to the Landsborough Highway to reports a shot had been fired at a passing vehicle.Prior to police arrival, a motorist located a stationary Toyota Hilux in the centre of the highway and a firearm.The motorist collected the firearm and continued on the highway to meet attending officers, where it was passed over.Officers then attended the vehicle and located a 19-year-old man near the highway.He was taken into custody and is assisting police with inquiries.No-one was physically injured during the incident.The town of Kynuna is 300 kilometres south of Mount Isa and has a population of just over 50 people.Officers are appealing to anyone with relevant information or dash cam footage to contact police.
