Man arrested for sexually assaulting woman in Halloween haunted house attraction

A supervisor at a Pennsylvania Halloween attraction used his position of authority to sexually assault an employee, prosecutors said, as part of a series of alleged assaults targeting three females, including a 12-year-old child. The suspect, Edward Eisenhard, 38, was charged with assault stemming from a September 25 incident at the Valley of Fear attraction in Lower Southampton Township, roughly 20 miles northeast of Philadelphia, according to Bucks County District Attorney Joe Khan. “Unfortunately, there are real monsters in this world,” Khan told reporters.According to a criminal complaint seen by CBS News, Eisenhard was on a break when he grabbed, restrained and indecently touched a female employee at the haunted house site. Prosecutors said Eisenhard, who was employed in a supervisory capacity with authority over staff members rather, held the woman against her will until his break ended and he had to return to duty. Eisenhard had worked at the attraction for roughly 10 seasons.“These were moments of terror for this woman, and that’s why we’re going to fight to get her justice,” Khan said.Edward Eisenhard, 38, faces multiple sexual assault charges involving victims across Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Eisenhard reportedly worked at the Halloween attraction where he is accused of carrying out one sexual assault (Bucks County District Attorney's Office)The filing represents the second set of workplace sexual assault charges brought against Eisenhard in recent weeks. Eisenhard was initially arrested October 1 in connection with an alleged September 27 assault involving a 19-year-old coworker inside a stockroom at a Five Below store in Hilltown Township. Investigators obtained a recorded phone confession from Eisenhard regarding that incident, Khan said.Court documents further detail allegations that Eisenhard sexually assaulted and molested a 12-year-old girl in Springfield Township. Prosecutors allege he used his personal relationship with the child’s family to gain access to her home, entering her bedroom while she slept. The three cases involve alleged victims ranging in age from 12 to 38, Khan said.Addressing questions regarding whether visitors or children at the haunted house attraction may have been targeted, Khan said authorities were not speculating about potential additional victims, but they would review any information brought forward.“We don’t know what we don’t know, and we’re not going to speculate on what could be true,” Khan said. “But when we learn of facts and we learn of allegations, we will do our duty to investigate them.”Khan encouraged anyone with knowledge of further misconduct involving Eisenhard to contact the district attorney’s office at (215) 348-6345.“If you are a victim, our office is a safe place where you will be heard,” Khan said. “You are a person that we will treat with respect and with dignity, and we will fight for you to get you justice.”Eisenhard remains in custody after failing to post bail following his initial arrest. Prosecutors plan to ask a judge to remand Eisenhard without bail, arguing that his release would pose a danger to the community. For those affected by rape and sexual abuse, if you are in the United States, you can call Rainn on 800-656-HOPE (4673).In the U.K., Rape Crisis offers support.
