Man arrested for ‘attempted abduction after approaching girl under 10 on the street’

NewsUK News A MAN has been arrested for “attempted child abduction” after a girl aged under 10 was approached on the street, police said. Cops scrambled to a quiet town on the edge of the Lake District after reports of a man approaching a child at 7.45pm on Wednesday. Officers said there was no physical contact with the girl at Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, but that they “take such reports seriously”. Detectives conducted house-to-house enquiries in the area after the incident and said they’ve increased local patrols since. Police warned locals to be vigilant, but urged against online speculation and asked for ‘time to carry out their work and establish the factual circumstances’.
