Man arrested after girl, 16, sexually assaulted in central London Tube station

A man has been arrested after a 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on a London Underground station.The teenager was attacked in central London on the afternoon of Wednesday July 8.She boarded a bus toward Abbey Wood Tube station at around 12.40pm and noticed she was being followed by a man.Once at the station, the girl left the train and was approached by the man, who allegedly sexually assaulted her.A man has now been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and bailed while enquiries continue.Anyone with information has been asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 119 of July 9.Read MoreInformation can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
