See more Daily Mail on Google - save us as a Preferred Source Published: 15:18 EDT, 28 September 2026 | Updated: 15:30 EDT, 28 September 2026 A middle-aged man has been arrested in Liverpool after a young woman accused him of rape in a restaurant.The 18-year-old was found in 'distress' by police in Queens Drive, Clubmoor, late on Saturday evening.The girl had claimed she was raped by a 51-year-old man in a restaurant in the area but had managed to escape afterwards, at which point she asked locals for help.Shortly before 10.50pm, members of the public phoned Merseyside Police and told them that a teenage girl had said she was raped.The suspect, who was from West Derby, was arrested and taken into custody for questioning.He has since been conditionally bailed while enquiries continue.The teenage girl has been receiving support from specialist officers.
