Man (50s) dies after getting into difficulty in Cork river

A man in his 50s has died after getting into difficulty in the river Bandon at Dunmanway, Co Cork.Gardaí and emergency services responded to the incident after receiving reports of a person in the water on Wednesday evening.A male was later taken from the water, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. “His body has been removed to Cork University Hospital mortuary where a postmortem examination will be arranged.
