Man, 35, arrested on suspicion of murder after beloved dad, 36, shot dead at UK traveller site as family pay tribute

ANOTHER man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal shooting of a “much-loved” husband and father. Two other men, aged 53 and 29, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender following a vehicle stop on the A419 road today. On Sunday, a 74-year-old man and 42-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and possession of a firearm. Tributes have poured in for Jimmy, with people leaving flowers and cards at the traveller site. One mourner wrote: “RIP to my daughter-in-law’s dad Jimmy Ward. Please everyone pray for all the family, my heart goes out to them all.’ Another said: “Very hard to believe. Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Phil Walker said: “This is a significant development in our investigation. “I can confirm that a man has been arrested on suspicion of Jimmy’s murder and is now in police custody, along with four other people on suspicion of assisting an offender. “Jimmy’s next of kin have been informed of this development and my thoughts continue to be with them. “They are being supported by specially trained officers. “A scene and heavy policing presence remain in place at the traveller site in Calcutt while further inquiries are carried out.
