Man, 32, dies after serious assault on station platform after Notting Hill Carnival as 38-year-old charged

NewsUK News A 32-YEAR-OLD man has died after being seriously assaulted at a busy London Underground station on his way back from Notting Hill Carnival. Cops scrambled to Liverpool Street Station just before 11pm on Sunday and discovered the victim on the platform with “life-threatening” head injuries. The man was rushed to hospital but sadly passed away yesterday surrounded by his family after the “serious assault”, confirmed British Transport Police. Jeremiah Maximo, 38, of Drydock Square, Barking, had been charged with Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) in connection to the incident prior to the man’s death. Maximo has been remanded into custody. He will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court today. The victim’s family are being supported by specialist officers, cops said. BTP Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn said: “First and foremost our thoughts are firmly with loved ones of the young man who has sadly died. “They are being supported by specially trained officers as our investigation continues.
