Man, 26, arrested over death of Brit woman found in suitcase in Athens as cops announce manslaughter and robbery charges

A MAN has been arrested in Athens over the death of a British woman whose body was found in a suitcase. Elisabeth-Jane Ross, 38, was found stuffed inside the travel bag in an abandoned building last week. The suspect confessed and was charged with manslaughter, robbery and violations of weapons law. Officers said the man crammed Elizabeth’s corpse into the suitcase before hauling it to the abandoned site in Kypseli. Cops said they believe he then used the victim’s bank cards to withdraw money. Raids of the suspect’s home uncovered a fake pistol and a knife. Greek cops had previously probed whether Elizabeth – a “good Samaritan” and committed Christian – was murdered by someone she was trying to help. She had reportedly been spotted befriending homeless people across Athens. Most read in The Sun Critical autopsy tests were fast-tracked to help solve the grim mystery. Police believe she was killed near to where her body was found in the derelict building in Kypseli. Elisabeth, known as Lisa, was reportedly seen chatting to homeless people close to an abandoned car park where they take drugs, drink and sleep rough.
