Man, 25, shot dead outside London pub in front of horrified punters as forensics flood scene – and 22-year-old arrested

A 22-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was shot dead outside of a pub in front of horrified punters. Another man, 22, later attended hospital with a gunshot wound. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in hospital at this time. Locals said they heard a series of pops before sirens started sounding and emergency crews descended on the street. One local told London Now: “It was shortly after 10pm and I heard lots of sirens, and I heard bangs – I think it was five or something. “And then I said ‘do you think they were gunshots?”‘ Most read in The Sun A woman who lives in the area told the publication that she now wants to move out of London. She said: “It’s sad what happened, that someone lost a life. I told my daughter this morning that I want to move.” Detectives remain at the scene today and are conducting enquiries in and around Willington Road and Landor Road. Forensic officers swarmed the scene last night, cordoning off the area outside the boozer. Images from the road this morning show police tape and police vehicles blocking off the street. A forensic tent has been set up on the side of the road as an investigation into the horror gets underway. A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 9.59pm on Monday, Aug 10 to reports of a shooting on Landor Road, SW9. “We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and paramedics in fast-response cars. “We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. “Our first paramedics arrived in three minutes. “Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.” Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond, Central South Borough Commander said: “We understand that incident will cause concern within the local community and an increased police presence will remain in the area throughout the day as our enquiries continue. “Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family for their tragic loss. “Officers have arrested a man on suspicion of murder, and we are working tirelessly to establish what happened. “We are asking anyone with information or anyone who may have witnessed the shooting to please contact us as soon as possible and support the ongoing investigation.”
