Forest officials flying a drone to track the movements of tiger along the borders of Polavaram and Kakinada districts. | Photo Credit: BY ARRANGEMENT The male tiger, Explorer, reportedly attacked two buffaloes at Avelthi village in Sankavaram mandal of Kakinada district on Thursday night.The tiger, which crossed the Godavari river about a week ago, entered Kakinada district from Rajavommangi in Polavaram district, where Forest officials sighted it on Thursday evening.In an official release issued on Friday, Kakinada District Forest Officer N. Ramachandra Rao said locals had reported that the tiger attacked the cattle on Thursday night. “One buffalo died and another survived the attack,” he said.“Our teams tracking the tiger will rush to the spot where it attacked the cattle and intensify monitoring to alert people about its movements,” Mr. Ramachandra Rao said.The tiger has followed the same route twice since February.
