Major UK train station evacuated after ‘controlled explosion of unattended car’ as Eurostar passengers face delays

A MAJOR UK train station has been evacuated after the controlled explosion of an “unattended car” which sparked train delays. Cops and emergency services swooped on the scene at King’s Cross St Pancras station before evacuating the busy travel hub. Images from the scene show a damaged silver car at the scene with its windows ripped out from the blast and shattered glass on the floor. However, the incident has caused massive delays with Eurostar services delayed by at least 30 minutes in some instances. Most read in The Sun East Midlands Railway (EMR) is also experiencing significant disruption across the network. Routes between St Pancras and Corby, Leicester, Derby, and Sheffield are currently affected. Traffic around St Pancras station is queueing in the area and bus route 214 is being diverted. King’s Cross St Pancras station has fully reopened just before 3.30pm, confirmed TfL. There is currently no indication that the vehicle posed a genuine security threat. The incident remains under investigation by cops. Passengers have been warned to plan ahead with their journeys. Delays and cancellations may still be affecting travellers.
