Major supermarket hiring hundreds of entry-level staff – you don’t need a degree and you’ll get 28 days’ holiday a year

A MAJOR supermarket is recruiting more than 450 store assistants across its UK stores. Applications don’t need any formal qualifications and the supermarket said it’s looking for candidates who are friendly, positive and good at working with numbers. Aldi will pay £13.50 an hour, or £14.88 if the store is based within the M25. This is well above minimum wage, which is £12.71 an hour. Sign up for the Money newsletter Thank you! You’ll usually work 25 hours a week but there are a range of shifts on offer, from 10 to 40 hours a week. Meanwhile, you’ll get 28 days of annual leave, including bank holidays. The roles are part of Aldi’s £370million expansion drive as the supermarket aims to open around 40 new locations this year. The supermarket is also upgrading 25 existing shops this summer in locations including Stockton, Kingston upon Thames and Musselburgh. Marks & Spencer is also creating 1,000 new jobs for young people this summer. The major retailer has launched a six-month training scheme for 18 to 24-year-olds in stores nationwide. The scheme is designed to help people kickstart their careers and you don’t need a university degree to apply. While training you’ll learn retail management skills, get hands-on experience in stores and get the chance to work towards becoming a store manager.
