A MAJOR high street chain has launched its own Middle Aisle to take on Lidl and Aldi. Decathlon has launched the feature in its 46 UK and Ireland stores, website and shopping app to make sports equipment more affordable for families. Middle Aisles have become a staple on the high street, helping families to snap up a range of bargains including summer essentials, outdoor kit and soft furnishings. The first drop will feature back to school essentials including shoes, trainers, water bottles and backpacks to help their kids prepare for next term. Sign up for the Money newsletter Thank you! But you’ll need to be quick as the bargains will be available for just six weeks and will disappear from shelves on August 30. Among the items on offer are kids’ school shoes, which cost £9.99 – down from £14.99. Meanwhile, Adidas kids’ advantage trainers will set you back £18.99, saving you £6.01. There’s also an Adidas 27.5 litre backpack, which is £9 cheaper, at £15.99. The deals will be updated every six weeks throughout the year. From August 31 the Middle Aisle will stock “Back to Sport” bargains to help parents and kids prepare for after-school sports clubs.
