A STRETCH of the M25 will remain shut overnight after a horror lorry crash saw a truck “jack-knifed” and diesel spilled everywhere. Drivers face a nightmare with the motorway set to remain closed overnight while the carriageway is resurfaced. National Highways said: “No serious injuries were reported from the collision. “However, one of the lorries has ‘jack-knifed’ and is sideways across all lanes. “The fuel tank of this lorry has ruptured, resulting in its diesel leaking over all lanes.” An Essex Police spokesperson added: “We are currently at the scene of a collision involving two lorries and a car on the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25, close to junction 27/ junction 6 of the M11. “The collision was reported at about 4.35 pm – we are attending with colleagues from the ambulance and fire services and National Highways. Most read in The Sun “A road closure is in place while emergency services work at the scene, and we thank you for your patience. “Drivers should check before they travel and plan their journeys accordingly.” Traffic from the M11 northbound or southbound joining the M25 anti-clockwise is not affected. However, other traffic approaching junction 27 is being diverted. A diversion is in place via the M11 southbound to the A406 westbound, then the A10 northbound to rejoin the M25 at junction 25. National Highways has advised drivers to allow extra time for their journeys and consider alternative routes. A spokesman added: “If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. “Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.” The diversion route is as follows: Exit the M25 at J27 onto the M11 southbound and continue to J4. Exit the M11 onto the A406 headed westbound and continue for approx. 6 miles to the junction with A10. Take the A10 headed northbound to re-join the M25 at J25.
